INDIES AND AI ARE THE KEY TO reVIVING LA as the Entertainment Capitol of the World
The Democrats in control of California’s State government have once again proven they are the party of big business, or in this case, big production. The 35-40% tax credit recently passed helps in the fight against runaway production. However, as usual, the State demonstrated its hostility towards small business by giving smaller independent production companies a mere 8-10% tax credit. MELISSA TOOMIM believes Indies deserve equality under the law.
MELISSA TOOMIM believes small business and independent production are the keys to reviving LA’s economy and reclaiming our title as Entertainment Capitol of the World. Unions serve the legitimate purpose of protecting workers. However, some of the entertainment industry unions engage in coercive practices which send independent producers running in search of friendlier business environments.
As your U.S. Representative, MELISSA TOOMIM will seek federal solutions for our local problems. One such federal solution is the National Labor Relations Board (Region 31 – Los Angeles | National Labor Relations Board), which not only provides assistance to workers dealing with unfair labor practices, it also provides companies with solutions for dealing with union reps who “lose the plot.”
